CHARLESTON – Charleston Southern Tennis won their fifth consecutive match on Thursday, defeating Samford by a 4-0 sweep. The victory moves the Bucs to 8-1 on the year at home.
The doubles point went in favor of the Bucs with them getting the decisions on courts #1 and #2.
Noa Boyd and
Amila Jusufbegovic won 6-2 in the topflight while
Kassandra Di Staulo and
Marina Skegro won 6-4 on court #2 to decide the point. The result on court #3 went unfinished.
In singles, it was all Bucs as CSU claimed all but two of the sets to finish. Di Staulo won court #6 by a dominant 6-3, 6-2 straight sets result. Jusufbegovic's concluded shortly after in just as impressive of a fashion at 6-3, 6-3.
Emmie Moore provided the clinching point with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in the topflight.
The remaining matches went unfinished.
Noa Boyd was a game away from claiming the overall win in hers on court #3. The others matches which had
Brenda Yoris at #5 and
Marina Skegro at #2 had seen the opening two sets be split with them ready to begin the third.
Charleston Southern will continue the week of three consecutive days of matches on Friday at 11:00 a.m. They will face Belmont in that match to conclude the week's stretch against Belmont at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
