Bucs Pick up Conference Road Victory at Longwood on Saturday

FARMVILLE, VA – Charleston Southern had their first road conference game of the year on Saturday morning. The Buccaneer defeated Longwood by a final score of 6-1 in Virginia. The victory marks the eighth consecutive for Charleston Southern.
 
The Lancers were able to open the day by winning the doubles point. Charleston Southern's Emmie Moore and Brenda Yoris claimed the #3 court by a 6-4 scoreline. Meanwhile, Longwood went on to get the decisions on the #1 and #2 courts to claim that opening point.
 
In singles, Charleston Southern was able to get the result in all six matches. Moore opened it with an incredible 6-0, 6-0 result in the topflight for CSU's first point of the day. Kassandra Di Staulo at #6 and Noa Boyd at #3 each won theirs in straight sets to put CSU ahead 3-1.
 
Each of the other three remaining matches went to three sets to determine their winner. Amila Jusufbegovic clinched the win with her victory at #4. She won 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Marina Skegro won at #2 and Yoris in a third set tiebreaker on #5 to end the day's action.
 
Charleston Southern will now continue their weekend with a match at Radford. They will face the Highlanders on Sunday, March 30 before returning back to the Lowcountry.
