BURLINGTON, N.C. – Charleston Southern women's golf wrapped up play at the Elon Invitational Tuesday afternoon, finishing 11th overall with a team score of 893 (+41) across the three rounds. The tournament was held at Alamance Country Club on a par-71, 6,025-yard layout.
The Buccaneers were led by Katie Stephens and Eugenie Varet, who both turned in top-20 finishes. Stephens posted rounds of 75, 68, and 76 to finish tied for 16th at +6 (219). Varet matched her with a strong showing, firing 75 in the opening round, a 70 in round two, and closing with a 74 to also finish tied for 16th at +6 (219).
Chayse Cool provided additional scoring for CSU, tying for 48th overall. She recorded rounds of 78, 72, and 77 to finish the tournament at +14 (227).
Summer Griffiths also had a consistent performance for the Buccaneers, finishing tied for 59th. She carded scores of 80, 72, and 78 to end at +17 (230).
Rounding out the lineup was IY Ibnu, who finished 70th. Ibnu turned in rounds of 78, 80, and 82 for a three-day total of 240 (+27).
As a team, Charleston Southern's best round came on Monday when they fired a 282, marking one of the lowest rounds by a team the entire tournament.
The Buccaneers will return to action next month at the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by College of Charleston.
