Women's Tennis Secures First Win of the Spring Season Against Wofford

CHARLESTON – After facing two SEC-opponents on opening weekend, the Charleston Southern Women's Tennis team suited up on their home court for a Friday face-off with the Wofford Terriers. The Bucs would secure their first overall victory of the Spring 2026 season, 4-3.

Charleston Southern struck first in singles play as Carlota Farres Carreter cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ella Suk on the #3 court. Shortly after, true freshman Amike Botha added another point with a 7-5, 6-0 victory against Grace Stout on the #5 court.

At the top of the lineup, Marina Skegro delivered a composed performance on court #1, defeating Wofford's premier singles talent Grace Agster 6-4, 6-4. Brenda Yoris clinched the victory for the Buccaneers at No. 2, battling past Quinn Bernthal 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.

In doubles play, Charleston Southern dropped the opening point to Wofford. The Buccaneers' top tandem of Skegro and Farres Carreter were leading 5-2 in their match when doubles play concluded.
