CHARLESTON – The Big South Conference announced the recipients for the men's cross country weekly awards on Wednesday afternoon with Marin Iriondo claiming Runner of the Week and Elijah Pabon earning Freshman of the Week. This past Saturday they competed at the Upstate Invite to conclude the regular season.
Iriondo was the Bucs' top finisher at the meet as he won the overall race in a field of 344 runners with his time of 23:47.9. Pabon was the third across the line for the Bucs and the fifth overall in the race with a time fo 24:00.6. This pair helped lead the Bucs to their third team championship this fall at a meet with both of their times ranking as career bests.
Next weekend, Charleston Southern will be returning to Spartanburg, S.C. for the Big South Championships. The meet is scheduled to be raced on the morning of October 30 as the Buccaneer men will be aiming for their seventh conseuctive championship with the women seeking their first.
