CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's basketball team hits the road this week for a pivotal two-game Big South Conference stretch, traveling to Gardner-Webb and first-place High Point as the Buccaneers continue to push for positioning in the league standings.
CSU enters the week at 8-16 overall and 6-5 in conference play following one of its most complete performance of the season, an 88-62 victory over Presbyterian inside the Buc Dome. Charleston Southern shot 55.8 percent from the field, never trailed, and built a lead that reached as many as 29 points. The Buccaneers have now won three of their last five Big South games and sit in fourth place entering the final few weeks of conference play.
Junior guard
Tyonna Bailey continues to anchor the Buccaneers on both ends of the floor. Bailey recorded her third double-double of the season against Presbyterian with 26 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, adding four assists in the win. In conference play, Bailey ranks first in the Big South in scoring at 21.5 points per game and second in rebounding among guards (8.0 RPG), while ranking second in the league with six 20-point performances.
