BLACKSBURG, VA – Charleston Southern competed at the Doc Hale Invite on Friday evening to kickoff their weekend.
Aden Price,
Griffin Gillespie and
Martin Iriondo highlighted the squad's performances on the first day of the meet.
Price ran another career best in the 400m with a time of 47.66 to rank as the sixth-fastest in school history for the event.
Jayden Anderson and
Hunter Adams also turned in solid performances in the race with a 50.42 and 50.70.
Laden Beckwith advanced to the finals of the 60m dash with his time of 6.83 and ran a 6.91 in the finals to claim third in the event.
Gillespie tied his career best in the one mile as he finished in fifth at the meet. His time of 4:05.72 still ranks as the fourth best in school history. Iriondo also turned in a great race with his coming in the 3K with a personal best of 8:06.77 which still ranks as the fourth fastest in program history.
Collin Kleinhen was second amongst the team in the mile with a 4:16.59 while
Caleb Kenyon had a 8:24.63 in the 3K for second on the squad with each marking a season best for the runners.
Tarrell Miles was just shy of setting a new personal best in the weight throw. He finished with a 17.56m in the event for his best heave of the day.
The Buccaneers will return to the campus of Virginia Tech tomorrow for the second and final day of the Doc Hale Invite.
