ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Charleston Southern men's golf team competed at the Peoples Championship this week, finishing 15th in the 21-team field with a three-round total of 870 (+18). The tournament was hosted by Western Carolina University and played at Sea Palms Resort, a par-71, 6,664-yard layout.
Theo Takman led the way for the Buccaneers, tying for 16th overall with rounds of 66, 72, and 74 to finish at 212 (1-under par). Takman's opening-round 66 marked a career-best round and set the tone for his tournament, helping him finish as one of the top performers in the field.
Dewi John also delivered a solid showing, tying for 25th place after posting rounds of 73, 72, and 69 to finish at 214 (1-over par). John closed the tournament strong with a 2-under 69 in the final round to move up the leaderboard.
Bailey Bjornson and Alex North each tied for 80th at 224 (11-over par). Bjornson recorded rounds of 70, 81, and 73, while North carded scores of 73, 77, and 74 across the three rounds.
Spencer Benton rounded out the Buccaneers' lineup, finishing 118th with rounds of 84, 77, and 78 to post a total of 239 (26-over par).
As a team, Charleston Southern opened the tournament with a strong 282 in the first round before shooting 298 in round two and closing with a 290 in the final round to complete play at the Peoples Championship.
