RALEIGH – Charleston Southern opened their time at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday with the men's and women's shot put and the men's distance events.
The day began with the women's shot put. Josaphine Ankney was the Bucs' top performer with a season best of 13.22m in the event with Lily Rowan tossing 12.95m in it. Avah Morrison had a career best of 12.18m as well.
Following this, they had the men's shot put with
Odin Ferency taking a top ten finish at the meet. He claimed ninth with a day's best and career best throw of 17.02m which moves him to second in the school record books.
Tarrell Miles threw a personal best as well with a 14.50m while
Landon Fuller had a 13.14m.
The first track event of the meet was the men's 1500m.
Rogan Arriaga was Charleston Southern's top finisher as he had a personal best time of 3:52.70.
Mason Raasch and
Collin Kleinhen both had season bests in the distance with their times of 3:52.90 and 3:54.38.
In the 5K,
Martin Iriondo claimed a top 50 finish in the meet with a personal best in the race. He ended with a time of 14:08.29 to slide up to third in the program record book for the distance.
Caleb Kenyon also ran in the event and had a time of 14:39.66.
The day came to an end with
Hayden Goode running in the 10K, the final event of the opening day. He had a time of 30:39.97 in the race to slide to 8
th in the school record books for the event.
The second day of the Raleigh Relays begins on Friday, March 27 with the field events at 10 a.m. with the women's discus and the track events at 10:45 a.m. with the women's 100m hurdles.
