CHARLESTON — Tuesday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced its final Women's Tennis Player and Freshman of the Week Award winners of the 2026 regular season, Charleston Southern's Marina Skegro and Amike Botha.

Skegro went a perfect 1-0 on the week against UNC Asheville's top singles player – finishing her college career with a 15-3 record against Big South opponents. She defeated Angelina Joy Hug in straight sets on Court No. 1 – 6-4, 6-2. In doubles before play was hauled, she and Carlota Farres were one point away from defeating the Bulldog's top tandem in dominating fashion – 5-1.

Botha went a perfect 2-0 on the week against UNC Asheville – finishing the regular season on an 8-match winning streak on the singles court. She won her Saturday singles dual in straight sets – 6-4, 6-2. In doubles play, her and her sister Carlé dominated UNCA's second-best duo on the No. 2 doubles court – 6-2.

The TennisBucs will suit up again on Friday, April 17th at 12:00 PM against the No. 3-seeded UNC Asheville Bulldogs for the semi-final round of the 2026
