Price Breaks 400m School Record at Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE – Charleston Southern concluded their outdoor track & field regular season on this weekend at the Charlotte Invite. At the meet, a school record that stood for the past 18 years was broken by Aden Price.
 
Price ran another career best time in the 400m as he had a 45.67 to win the event at the meet, breaking the school record that was set in 2008 by Levi Brooks. Additionally, the time ranks as the fourth-best in conference history. Hunter Adams also ran in it and had a 49.55 for a season best.
 
Collin Kleinhen ran a personal best time in the 800m at the meet with a 1:51.35 for sixth overall in the invite section. His time ties him for eighth in school history for the event. Kaden Kleinhen had a 1:53.71. In the 800m open, Earlon Baker recorded the fastest time from the sections with a 1:54.70 while Liam O'Donnell had a 2:01.09.
 
Mason Raasch recorded the best time of all the Buccaneers entrees in the 1500m as he had a personal best of 3:50.78 for second overall in the open section. Also running in the 1500m were Rogan Arriaga (3:56.56), Lin Scott (3:59.49), Jeff Wedding (4:02.25), JD Gilman (4:02.47) and William Reid (4:09.08). Zach Mickler rounded out the distance team's outings with a 15:38.19 in the 5K.
 
In the 3K steeplechase, all the runners from Charleston Southern in the event ran new career bests in it. Caleb Kenyon had 9:05.96 to lead the squad and move to fifth in school history for it. Raasch had a 9:21.27 and Jones Barber had a 9:29.24.
 
In the 200m, Laden Beckwith was just off his newly set personal best time as he had a 20.93 to place him at third overall at the meet. Jayden Anderson ran a time of 15.86 in the 100m hurdles. In the 400m hurdles Anderson had a time of 53.78 while Luciano Custodio had 54.71.
 
Odin Ferency won the shot put at the meet with a best throw on the day of 17.68m, just off his personal best set last weekend. Landon Fuller also threw in it and had a 12.62m. In the discus throw, Tarrell Miles had a 44.43m. In the hammer, Ferency had a 43.80m and Fuller went 39.10m. In the javelin, Landry Polk threw 53.71m and Jaden Bellush had 51.22m.
 
The meet ended with the men's 4x400m relay. The group of Custodio, Price, Adams and Beckwith claimed second at the meet with their time of 3:08.88. The time is just two tenths of a second slower than what they recorded last weekend at Georgia Tech with the same group.
 
Charleston Southern will now enjoy a pair of weekends off and time to put in their final preparations for the Big South Championships. This year, the meet will be held on the campus of High Point University from Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13.
