PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge, finishing fourth in the 19-team field with a three-round total of 885 (33-over par). The tournament was hosted by Golfweek and played at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, a par-71 course measuring 6,082 yards.
Katie Stephens led the way for the Buccaneers, earning Co-Champion honors after tying for first place with a three-round total of 208 (5-under par). Stephens opened the tournament with an impressive 67 before following with rounds of 70 and 71, finishing as one of the top performers in the field and securing her share of the individual title.
Eugenie Varet also delivered a strong showing, tying for fifth overall at 215 (2-over par). Varet opened with a 67 before posting rounds of 73 and 75 to give Charleston Southern two players inside the top five.
Iy Ibnu added a top-35 finish, tying for 33rd overall with rounds of 76, 76, and 75 to finish at 227 (14-over par).
Summer Griffiths finished tied for 68th after carding rounds of 78, 79, and 78 (22-over par), while Chayse Cool rounded out the Buccaneers' lineup with a 76th-place finish after posting rounds of 78, 81, and 78 (24-over par).
As a team, Charleston Southern opened the tournament with a 288 before shooting 298 in the second round and closing with a 299 to secure a fourth-place finish at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge.
The Bucs will now set their sights on the Big South Championships taking place in Fripp Island, South Carolina April 19-22.
