CHARLESTON – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Academic teams and All-Academic athletes for the 2026 track and field season on Monday afternoon. Each of the Buccaneers track & field programs earned All-Academic distinction and a trio of male student-athletes were selected as All-Academic athletes.
 
The Buccaneers men's team ended the year with 3.2 GPA. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the squad has received this award. Odin Ferency, Griffin Gillespie and Caleb Kenyon all received All-Academic distinctions. Ferency competed in the NCAA Regionals for the shot put and earned All-Conference status at this year's Big South Championships. Gillespie and Kenyon each had standout seasons across the distance events as well during the academic year.
 
In order to qualify for the award, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
