BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Charleston Southern women's soccer team battled through 90 minutes Thursday night, but Campbell used three first-half goals and two second-half tallies to defeat the Buccaneers, 5-0, at Eakes Athletics Complex.
The Camels took control early, as Abby Connolly opened the scoring in the 21st minute off an assist from Gretchen Baker. Campbell doubled its advantage in the 33rd minute when Avery Garrett found the back of the net, before Gillian Garrison added another goal in the 39th minute to send the Camels into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
Campbell added to its advantage in the second half when Tyler Baughan scored in the 66th minute off an assist from Garrison. Olivia Vandre capped the scoring in the 78th minute, with Garrison earning her second assist of the night and securing the win for Campbell.
