Vision
The Charleston Southern University's Athletic Training Department seeks to provide all student-athletes with the best medical resources to prevent, evaluate, treat, rehabilitate and manage all injuries or illnesses. CSU aspires to be a leader in the athletic training profession at the local, state, and national levels.
Mission
The Charleston Southern University Athletic Training Department's mission is to provide athlete-centered medicine for the athletic department. These services include prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management of injuries or illnesses. We are committed to provide evidence-based medicine by staying current with medical trends and research. In addition, we strive to provide a valuable clinical educational experience for the students enrolled in the Charleston Southern Master of Athletic Training Program.
The purpose of our department is to:
- Promote excellence in a Christian environment
- Reduce the risk of injury and illness
- Allow easy access to sports medicine services
- Provide immediate first response to athletic related medical emergencies
- Encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors
- Enable our student-athletes to return to participation quickly and safely

In addition, we stand behind the values and beliefs of Charleston Southern University, the National Athletic Trainers' Association Code of Ethics, The BOC Standards of Professional Practice, and the regulations set forth by the state of South Carolina.
