Coach Theresa Duncan is entering her fourth season as the Head Coach of the Charleston Southern University BUCS Cheer program. A former four-time college national championship cheerleader, Coach Duncan brings elite experience, high-level training, and unmatched energy to the buccaneer sidelines.
Under her leadership, the coed team placed third at the 2025 NCA College Nationals, marking a historic finish for BUCS Cheer. That same season, she successfully launched the program’s first-ever all-girl team, expanding opportunities for student-athletes and strengthening the overall program.
In addition to her role at CSU, Coach Duncan is the owner of Top Cheer Talent, a cheerleading gym in Charleston dedicated to developing strong, confident athletes of all ages and backgrounds. Her coaching style blends technical excellence with leadership development, and she is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential—on the mat and in life.
Originally from Bowdon, Georgia, Coach Duncan holds a B.S. in Biology from Shorter University. She lives in Charleston with her husband Sam and their two beloved dogs, Reba and McGruff.
