Anne Akagi joined Charleston Southern as a volunteer coach with the women's cross country and track & field programs in the fall of 2024. She joins the team in the capacity after a stellar five-year career with the program following her graduation.
At the time of her graduation, she ranks top ten in school history for nine different events between indoor and outdoor as one of the most decorated career with the Buccaneers' to date. She holds the school records in the outdoor 800m and 1500m, setting each during her final spring. She recorded a time of 2:09.47 in the 800m to begin the spring at the CSU Buccaneer Invitational Presented by East Bay Deli on March 15, 2024. For the 1500m, she had a time of 4:28.32 which came on April 20, 2024 at the Yellow Jacket Invite hosted by Georgia Tech. She also was on the school's DMR relay squad which broke the school record on February 3 at the USC Invitational when they ran a time of 11:46.26 which also ranks as the third-best in Big South history.
