Allie Combos

Allie Combos joined Charleston Southern University in July 2024 as the Director of Athletic Learning Support within the Athletic Academics department. In this role, she oversees the academic success and NCAA eligibility of more than 400 student-athletes across 16 Division I athletic programs.

During her first year, she played a pivotal role in the department’s academic achievements, contributing to a record-breaking 3.37 cumulative GPA across all teams. She developed and led proactive academic support programming and implemented targeted tutoring strategies to promote long-term student development.

Prior to Charleston Southern, Combos earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Clemson University, graduating cum laude in December 2023. While at Clemson, she worked for two years as a tutor in Athletic Academic Services, providing one-on-one and group support to student-athletes—primarily in psychology, sociology, English, and communication courses.

Her broader experience in education and support services includes roles with Kelly Education Services, My Sister’s House (a domestic violence shelter), The Parenting Place, and the Medical University of South Carolina. Through these roles, she developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and holistic student support.

Combos is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University, with plans to become a licensed clinical counselor. She is especially passionate about the intersection of mental health, athletic identity, and academic performance—and is committed to empowering student-athletes to thrive both in the classroom and beyond the field.
