Bethany Myers joined the athletic department of Charleston Southern in June of 2024 as the Director of Athletic Advising. She originally arrived on campus in February of 2023 and has spent time working in the enrollment and financial aid departments for the university.
During her first year in her role, she helped the Buccaneers to a level of unprecedented success as they achieved another record-breaking year in overall department GPA with a 3.37 across the 16 athletic programs.
In her current role she helps to maintain the academic eligibility of each of the Buccaneers’ student-athletes by advising and registering student-athletes for classes so that they make the necessary progress toward their degrees.
Previously at the university she served as the Financial Aid Coordinator where she was tasked with overseeing CSU student work-study employees and handling financial aid department communications with students and their families, assisting students in qualifying for federal and CSU student financial aid. Prior to that she was an operations assistant/receptionist for the Hunter Center.
Earlier in her career, Myers spent time working for Primerica Financial Services, St. Anthony of Padua School, Northern Ohio Regional Multiple Listing Service and Harris Publishing/Harris InfoSource.
Myers received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kent State University, graduating with honors. She also attended the University of Michigan. While a Wolverine, she was a sportswriter and editor as well as an active player and referee of club and intramural sports.
She and her husband Tom reached the quarter-century mark in their marriage in October of 2024 and continue to add to it every year. Their son, Connor, is currently enrolled at CSU pursuing his degree in computer engineering. They moved to Charleston in 2011 from Northeast Ohio, outside of Cleveland.
