Brayson Melton joined Charleston Southern in April of 2025 as a Director of Equipment Operations. In his role, he oversees the ordering, inventory, distribution and maintenance of all the Buccaneers' equipment for the football, women's tennis, softball, men's golf, women's golf, cheerleading and dance programs.

Melton arrives at CSU after spending the 2024 fall as an equipment assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In this role, he assisted in laundry operations for players and staff, ensuring cleanliness and readiness of all apparel and equipment, supported the smooth execution of practices by organizing and maintaining gear, uniforms, and equipment as well as packed and coordinated travel trunks for home and away games and ensuring all players and staff had necessary attire and equipment for game day.

Prior to that role he spent time at Texas Christian University (TCU) as a graduate assistant in their equipment operations department. He was responsible for packing the equipment semi-truck, collecting game gear from the past week and properly launder it, oversight of over 15 student managers, inventory all incoming gear and distribute it to 135 players and 50+ staff members, maintain game and practice helmets to ensure safety standards are met and communicate with the recruiting department and provide all necessary gear for photo and video shoots.

He got his start in the industry as a student manager with Clemson Football in the summer of 2019. In the role he would assist wide receivers coaches, Jeff Scott and Tyler Grisham, throughout practice by setting up and participating in drills, assemble and modify helmets, visors, shoulder pads, and other equipment used by student-athletes to ensure safety during athletic competition and was responsible for the distribution of weekly apparel shipments to student-athletes, staff, and coaches

Melton graduated from Clemson University with his bachelor's of science in psychology in May of 2022 and received a minor in athletic leadership as well. He completed his Master's of Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University in May of 2024. He is originally from Shelby, N.C. graduating from Crest High School in 2019.
