Mitchell Yoder

Mitchell Yoder joined Charleston Southern Athletics in May of 2024 as the Director of Creative Content. He works with each of the school's athletics programs to elevate the visual presentation of the teams both for in-arena as well as on social media. Additionally, he has direct oversight of the department's student intern program in terms of the recruitment and training of the people involved in it.

Since joining the Buccaneers, Yoder has done an incredible job of elevating the student-athlete experience for the school's student-athletes as well as the visual branding on digital platforms for the department. He has helped in the consistent gain in exposure of the programs which has led to the athletic department's social media pages growing by an average of 24% on X, formerly Twitter, and 40% on Instagram which accounted for nearly 37,000 new followers in total across the Buccaneers' online presence, increasing the value of the school, its brand and visibility.

Yoder arrived in Charleston after spending the year prior as the Creative Media Manager for Brevard College. He worked with each of their 15 athletics programs where he would produce/edit video and photo content. Additionally, he oversaw a team of work study students to have more people on hand to capture moments from the different events. He first began working in this department in his final semester as an undergraduate student there as an intern. During his time in that role he directed and filmed various media day promo shoots as well as filmed and edited various game recaps.

While in college he was a running back on the football team each of his four years at the school. He played in 31 games and accumulated 1271 career rushing yards to go with an average of 5.3 per carry.  He set a career-high in rushing with 220 yards at Methodist on October 30, 2021 off just 14 carries. That rushing total ranks as the most by a player in a single game in program history since joining the ranks of NCAA DIII. He earned All-Conference honors at the end of his junior year.

Yoder graduated from Brevard College in May of 2023 with his Bachelor's of Arts. He is originally from Columbus, North Carolina. Prior to his graduation from Brevard, he was awarded the 2023 John McKissick Award which recognizes the Tornados' most outstanding football senior student-athlete for what they have done both on and off field. In June of 2025, he completed The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) to be a certified pilot of drones.
