Series History
Davidson leads the all-time series history over the Bucs, 4-0, having won each of the matchups between the two teams. The Wildcats hosted the inaugural contest back on February 12, 1993, a 57-44 win over the Bucs in the arena.

Wednesday marks just the second game between the two teams in Belk Arena with the previous three contests having taken place inside the Buccaneer Field House. The Bucs are 0-1 against the Wildcats in the Applin coaching era with the lone matchup coming in the 2018 season, a 77-34 Davidson win. Davidson jumped out to the 40-15 halftime lead on their way to picking up the win with the Wildcats hitting 11 three-pointers in the contest.
Gators hold off Bucs in nonconference action, 67-52
Alyssia Faye and
Sharita Godfrey powered the Charleston Southern women's basketball team to an early lead in the Wednesday evening contest, but a key second-quarter run by the host Gators led the University of Florida past the Buccaneers, 67-52.
Faye and Godfrey combined to score 19 of CSU's first 20 points in the contest and sparked the Bucs to a 20-19 lead with 7:07 remaining in the second quarter. The Gators took over from there behind a balanced offensive attack as Florida went on a 27-4 run spanning the remainder of the first half to pull away in the contest.
Charleston Southern shot 50.0% (22-of-44) from the floor in the contest and 30.0% (3-of-10) from the three-point line. Over the final three quarters of the game, the Bucs were an impressive 18-of-33 (54.5%) shooting from the floor as a team. Twenty-one of CSU's 22 rebounds in the contest came on the defensive end of the floor. The Gators scored 23 points off 21 CSU turnovers and held the 12-2 edge on fast-break points. The Gators held the 38-26 edge on points in the paint and 17-0 advantage on second-chance points.
Wildcats fall to Eagles, 84-61
The Davidson Wildcats (0-3) outscored their opponent in the second half for the second-straight game today, but the hot-shooting FGCU Eagles (2-2) jumped out to an early lead to run away with the 84-61 victory in the final game of bdG Sports' #BeachBubble.
Peyton Carter won her second-straight opening tip to begin today's contest, before reaching a new career-high in scoring with 12 points. Cameron Tabor led Davidson's offense efficiently this morning, scoring a career-high 14 points and grabbing six rebounds. Chloe Welch scored the team-high for the third consecutive day, tallying 17 points, along with Adelaide Fuller who recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.
Bucs against the A-10
Charleston Southern has only faced off against Davidson against the current members against the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Buccaneers sit 0-4 all-time against the Wildcats dating back to the first matchup in the 1992-93 season.

About the Wildcats
Davidson opened the season with an 0-3 record after starting the year at the #BeachBubble Showcase held in Fort Myers, Fla. over Nov. 27-29. The Wildcats fell to No. 12 Maryland, Wake Forest, and host Florida Gulf Coast over the three-day event, before a 10-day hiatus leading up to the Wednesday matchup against the Bucs.
Davidson was picked fourth overall in the Atlantic 10 Conference's preseason poll as announced by the league office in the preseason. Three Wildcats were recognized on the preseason All-Conference team with Suzi-Rose Deegan (First), Katie Turner (Second), and Sarah Donovan (Third) all earning conference recognition.
