Women's Basketball Opens Season Monday Against Georgia College

The Charleston Southern women's basketball team opens the season on Monday at 5:30 p.m. as they welcome the Georgia College Bobcats to the Buc Dome. This will be the first ever meeting between these two teams.

New Year, New Team
Clarisse Garcia returns for her second season as Head Coach of the Buccaneers. With seven newcomers, including six freshman, this year's team will look much different from a year ago.

Tori Gittens returns for her senior season and will look to lead the team this year. She averaged 7.0 points per game, which is the most among returning players. Her .308 three-point percentage is tied for 24th all-time in school history.

Madison Adamson, Sha'Mya Leigh and Zaire Hicks also return this year for the Bucs and expect to get consistent minutes.

Georgia College
Ross Jolly returns for his fourth season in Milledgeville, Ga. His team went 8-17 a year ago and returns Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year Ashyia Willis.

The Bobcats return 11 players total from the 2021-2022 team, including their top three scorers as well as former All-PBC selection Harper Vick.

This season will be the first season in nearly two years that Georgia College is set to face a non-conference schedule. They are projected to finish ninth in the Peach Belt Conference this season.
