Home game times announced for 2022 CSU football season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern director of athletics Jeff Barber and head football coach Autry Denson have announced the game times for the four home contests for which the Buccaneers will play host this upcoming fall season at Buccaneer Field.

Charleston Southern will open the 2022 campaign on its home turf with a Noon start against Western Carolina, Sept. 3. It marks the first meeting between the two schools and serve as Hall of Fame Weekend. The newest class of Buccaneers inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame will be unveiled soon.

The second all-time clash, and first in the Holy City, against Furman Sept. 24 also will kickoff at Noon. It will be the final home non-conference contest of the year and the first meeting between the in-state foes since Denson's inaugural game on the CSU sidelines in 2019.

Homecoming marks the only home game of October for the Bucs and they will play host to league rival Gardner-Webb in a 6 p.m. start Oct. 22. Charleston Southern won last year's meeting in double overtime and this year's tilt will mark a rare night contest in the series which will pit the two teams against one another for the 20th time this fall.

The home finale Nov. 5 against Robert Morris returns the kickoff times to Noon, marking the third of four with the midday start. The Colonials last came to Buccaneer Field during the shortened 2021 spring season, the delayed 2020 fall campaign due to COVID-19, to begin the Big South series and Charleston Southern won that matchup.

All game times are subject to change.

Information about season tickets, as well as individual game tickets, will be released in the near future. Stay tuned to CSUSports.com and @CSUFB on Twitter for further updates.
