CHARLESTON – Wednesday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced its All-Conference honorees for the 2025 volleyball season. Two of the selected players were Charleston Southern's Skylar Yates and Emily Struckmeyer.
Yates, a second-team selection, finished the 2025 regular season with 292 kills (team-first), a .203 hitting percentage on 935 total attempts, 54 service aces, 302 digs, and 21 total blocks. During 2025 Big South Conference play, Yates recorded her 1,000th career kill, her 1,000th career dig, and became the Bucs' all-time service ace leader.
Struckmeyer, a two-year team captain, was also selected to the league's second-team after finishing second in both total kills (178) and total blocks (56) for CSU this season. The Lowell, Michigan native also led the squad in hitting percentage, posting a .342 mark on 418 total attempts. In addition to her on-court production, Struckmeyer impressed even more in the classroom – posting a 4.0 GPA for the fourth year in a row and landing herself a spot on the 2025 Big South All-Academic Team.
Both All-Conference honorees and the rest of the VolleyBucs will hit the road later this week for round one of the Big South Conference Championship tournament in High Point, North Carolina. CSU will face #6 Radford at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 21.
Carry Brown, the head coach of the Buccaneers, expressed the pride she has for two members of her impactful senior class saying, "I'm proud of these two for representing our program so well. Their consistency, work ethic, and commitment to the team showed up every single day. This recognition is just a reflection of the impact they have made on this team all season long."
