CHARLESTON - The Bucs are off for the summer, but that does not mean that play has stopped. Members of Charleston Southern's 2025 baseball team have departed for destinations around the country to play in summer collegiate leagues. Charleston Southern has nine players around the United States of America up and down the east cost and as far away as Michigan.

Coastal Plains League
Mason Reising, C #4 – Martinsville Mustangs
For the second straight summer, Reising is hotter than the temperature. This go-round in the CPL, he leads the league in RBIs with 28. He has eight multiple RBI games, three of which he drove in five runs. Reising tops the Mustangs qualified hitters in OPS (1.029), SLG (.529), and is in a tie for the lead in doubles (7). He is also top five on the team in average (.324), hits (23) and on-base percentage (.437). The rising redshirt-sophomore backstop took home the CPL's Hitter of the Week award for June 15th-21st this season. In that stretch, he hit .533 collecting eight knocks and drove in 10 runs. He has hit safely in 13 of 19 games played for Martinsville including six multi-hit performances.
New England Collegiate Baseball League
Chandler Tuupo, 1B #31 - Keene Swampbats
A mainstay in the Buccaneers' lineup this past season, Tuupo has found similar success up north. Tuupo has played in 20 of 22 Swampbats contests including every game in the franchise record 11-game winning streak. In the record breaking 11-5 win, Tuupo led Keene with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Tuupo has 19 hits and 12 RBIs so far this summer for his first place club. He has been hit by six pitches to this point. The next closest hitter in that category is at three.
Northwoods League
Kain Collins, OF #13 – Mankato Moondogs
Collins boasts a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage patrolling the Moondogs' outfield through 18 total chances across 44 innings. At the plate, the Tennessee native has scored 5 runs in 10 games to go along with three hits. During a dominating 17-2 win over the Eau Claire Express, Collins reached base three times and tallied two runs in six plate appearances.
Christian Krause, RHP #15 – Kalamazoo Growlers
In 10 relief appearances, Krause owns a 1.13 ERA for Kalamazoo. The rising senior has shown his experience by throwing multiple innings of relief in four of his outings, including a season-long 3.2 innings of scoreless work on June 27th. In that outing, he punched out five and didn't allow a hit. Krause picked up his only decision of the season to this point when he punched out two of the five batters he faced in a 11-3 Growlers win. He has struck out at least one batter in nine of his 10 appearances to give him 16 on the year.
New York Collegiate Baseball League
Chris Laieta, LHP #1 – Olean Oilers
The Staten Island native has enjoyed a return to his home state to play for Olean. Laieta has racked up 20 strikeouts in just six appearances. The redshirt freshman is third overall in the league in strikeouts. He had seven, a season high, in three innings of relief to help lead the Oilers to a 5-2 win over Dansville earlier this month. He has not had an outing where he struck out less than three betters. Laieta has made two starts and holds a 2-1 record.
Caden Wolfley, OF #43 – Olean Oilers
Wolfley redshirted this past season at CSU but has settled into the NYCBL nicely. He currently ranks 24th in the league with a .321 batting average. He has 18 knocks to go along with 13 walks at the plate. He has stolen 10 bases on 12 attempts which puts him in the top 10 across the NYCBL. Wolfley currently has a 12 game on-base streak,and has reached base safely in 16 of 17 games. His best performance came on June 29th where he turned in a 5-for-6 effort, scoring twice from the lead-off spot.
Old North State League
Gabe Gutter, OF, #48 - Tarboro River Bandits
Another redshirt from this season is really getting used to college pitching in North Carolina. Gutter holds a .333 average across 72 at-bats. He is second on the team in doubles with eight which is a third of his total hits (24). Gutter is first in runs scored (27), tied for first in stolen bases (10), and second in walks (15) as well as HBP (7). In 19-6 drubbing for Tarboro on June 29th, Gutter went 4-for-6 with two doubles and a season high five RBIs.
Ben McMillan, RHP #38 – Tarboro River Bandits
The Charleston native has only allowed one run across 14.1 innings this summer, good for a 0.62 ERA. He has been a lock-down reliever allowing eight of the 48 batters he has faced to reach base. McMillan owns a 17-to-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Of those 17, 15 have gone down swinging. On June 11th, McMillan turned in 6 innings of shutout relief to earn the win over New Bern, 5-3. He allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out a season high seven. McMillan needed just 67 pitches to complete his outing.
Tristan Stephenson, RHP #46 – Tarboro River Bandits
Stephenson settled in nicely to Tarboro after a shaky first appearance. Since June 6th, he has only allowed three runs with just one being earned. He has struck out at least one batter in all six of his outings giving him 17 on the year. He struck out six in four innings against Outer Banks. In his lone decision of the summer, Stephenson got the start going five shutout innings with five strikeouts on June 24th in a 4-1 win over the Raleigh Red Oaks.
Valley Baseball League
John Emendorfer, UTL – Winchester Royals (VBL)
Emendorfer has five multi RBI performances across his 15 games played for Winchester. He has 13 RBIs for the season to go along with 15 hits. He has walked 11 times and crossed the plate 12 times. All the way back on June 5th, Emendorfer turned in a 3-for-5 performance at the plate where he scored four of the Royals 10 runs against Waynesboro.
