WILMINGTON, N.C. – Charleston Southern dropped their road midweek contest at UNC Wilmington on Tuesday evening by a final score of 18-2 to fall to 12-4 on the season.

Gavin Speirs had an RBI double to cut their deficit to 8-2.
UNC Wilmington scored nine in the fifth to put the game out of reach and another in the sixth to place the final score at 18-2.
Marot led the Bucs at the plate with two hits while Reader and Speirs each had one as well. On the mound, they turned to five different pitchers.
Tristan Stephenson had the best outing of the group, allowing one earned run off 1.2 frames of work.
Hunter Porter had the start and picked up the loss.
Charleston Southern is back in action this weekend for their final nonconference series of the spring. They will host Villanova from Friday-Sunday with all three games to be available live on ESPN+. The Buccaneers hold a 9-0 record at Nielsen Field @ CSU Ballpark so far this season in their weekend series matchups.
