Rice Earns Big South Runner and Freshman of the Week

CHARLESTON – The Big South Conference announced the recipients for the women's cross country weekly awards on Wednesday afternoon with Amron Rice claiming Big South Runner and Freshman of the Week. These mark her second and third awards to be earned so far this fall as she earned Freshman of the Week following her career debut.

Rice was the top finisher for Charleston Southern at the Furman Invitational on Saturday. She claimed 11th overall in the field in the 6K with her time of 22:13.75 and helped CSU to a second-place finish at the meet.

The Buccaneers will be off this weekend and return next weekend to compete in the Winthrop Adidas Invitational on September 25 in Rock Hill, S.C.
