Trey Johnson

Johnson returned to his alma mater of Charleston Southern in April of 2024 as an assistant coach. He worked as an assistant coach at Presbyterian (2023-24) as the team's Co-Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator helping the team to a win over SEC opponent Vanderbilt on November 7, 2023.

He came back to Presbyterian College after spending two years as an assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University from 2021-2023. He played a key role in helping the Bears rank among the nation's leaders in the fewest turnovers in the 2021-22 season while also being a part of the coaching staff when Lenoir-Rhyne upset Louisville in November of 2022. Prior to Lenoir-Rhyne, Johnson spent two seasons from 2019-21 as the Blue Hose's Director of Basketball Operations.

Also in his coaching journey, Johnson was an assistant coach for one season at Francis Marion University, where he coached players who were named the Peach Belt Conference Co-Player and Freshman of the Year while helping the Patriots' earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Johnson went to FMU following his graduation from CSU to be an assistant coach for the 2018-2019 season. 

During his four years as an undergraduate student with the Buccaneers, he was a four-year student manager for the Buccaneer Men’s Basketball program and was eventually promoted to the role of Head Manager for his junior and senior years.

Johnson is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and graduated from Charleston Southern in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He is married to his wife, Courtney, and has a son, Jeremiah.
