Chase Beckham joined Charleston Southern Athletics in June of 2024 as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications working primarily with the Buccaneers' Men's Basketball and Volleyball programs.

His first year with the Buccaneers was one to be remembered as he had a large hand in the push for Taje' Kelly to win Big South Player of the Year in Men's Basketball, the school's first since 2015 and fourth in program history. Through various social media posts highlighting his single-game, season and career performances, he garnered plenty of attention from around the region, a nod to the NABC All-South Atlantic Division’s First-Team and earned a spot on the roster for the prestigious 2025 Reese’s College All-Star Game which was held in San Antonio, Texas as part of the 2025 Final Four festivities. Beckham helped kick start the phrase and campaign of "Call Two" during the end of the season as a homage to Kelly's reliability at the highest level of college basketball and continue the push for the Buccaneer to receive the league's most distinguished honor.

In terms of social media coverage, Beckham assisted in the formulation of one of the premier channels at the mid-major level. The success was seen through the growth in followers on the pages of the teams that he covered with record boosts between June 1, 2024 - May 31, 2025. The men's basketball X, formerly Twitter, grew by 21% while the Instagram page saw a 45% boost and the volleyball's X increased by 21% and Instagram did by 31%. 

Another highlight of his first year at Charleston Southern came in the form of feature stories on each of the starters and primary role players on the men's basketball team. During his time as an undergraduate student, he accumulated a wealth of experience in both media and college athletics. During the Spring of 2024, he worked with Rome City Schools as the lone athletic media intern. While in this role, he handled the entirety of the content creation and digital program promotion for a GHSA 6A Athletic Department as well as organized a spring media day for each of the school's eight varsity spring sports. One of the most impactful parts of his time with Rome was working on district-level projects where his work was used and presented to organizational leaders in the school district.

Beckham additionally gained experience in the world of college athletics working inside of the Georgia Southern Athletics Department from September 2021 - December 2023. He initially worked in the Creative Services department and later took a position in the NCAA Compliance department where he earned the role of Head Student NCAA Compliance Officer. 

He first began working with media while in high school. For two years, he was the Chief Student Sport Information Officer for Tift County High School where he was responsible for all athletic department social media output working with all 15 of the school's programs. 

Beckham graduated from from Georgia Southern University in May of 2024 with a Bachelor's of Science in Sport Management-Administration. He is a proud Tifton, Georgia native.
