Colleen Melvin

Colleen Melvin joined Charleston Southern in June of 2025 as an assistant athletic trainer. She works with the Buccaneers’ Men's Basketball and spirit squads at the school.
 
Prior to arriving at CSU, Melvin worked at College of Charleston as the Director of Sports Medicine where she worked with the men's basketball and women's golf programs for a season. Prior to that, she spent time at Florida Gulf Coast as the Athletic Trainer for men's basketball for two years and then as the associate athletic trainer at Florida Southern for four years. 
 
Other stops in her career have included Florida State University, where she worked as a graduate assistant, as well as UC San Diego as a post-graduate intern athletic trainer and Amos P. Godby High School as the Head Athletic Trainer and an Anatomy & Physiology instructor at the school.
 
Melvin earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Lasell College in 2014, graduating Magna Cum Laude and completed her Master of Science, Sports Science / Exercise Physiology in 2016 at Florida State.Â
