Jamal Edmonson

Jamal Edmonson joined CSU in June of 2024 as a Graduate Assistant for the men's basketball program.

Edmonson comes to CSU after a phenomenal playing career both in the state of South Carolina and on the west coast in California. He is only the fifth player in South Carolina high school history to accumulate over 3,000 points. Some of the accolades he earned as a high school player include: four-time All-State First Team selections, 2017 SCISA State Player of the Year, and a two-time Region Player of the Year. Both of the high schools Edmonson attended are in the Charleston area, beginning his career at Northwood Academy and graduating from Ashley Ridge High School in 2019.

Edmonson began his collegiate career at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. After his freshman season, he traded in his familiar east coast for a year of west coast basketball when he transferred to Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA for his sophomore campaign. Edmonson graduated from Mt. Sac in 2021 with an AA degree in Kinesiology. Continuing his education and playing journeys, Edmonson transferred back to his home state to attend Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC. As a Warrior, Edmonson averaged 14 points per game his junior year and ranked third in the Conference Carolinas in field goal percentage. In 2024, Edmonson walked the graduation stage again, this time earning Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology.
