CHARLESTON, S.C. - After falling behind 3-0 early in the second half, Charleston Southern (3-4-1, 0-2) scored two, unanswered goals, but couldn't find the tying goal as they fell 3-2 to Radford (3-5, 1-1) Saturday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.

Lindsey Trexler and Emma Mattsson each notched a goal for CSU in the last 30 minutes of the game. Both CSU goals came off set pieces, with Trexler heading the ball off a corner kick by Christine Bethke, and Mattsson getting hers off a free kick by Alissa Schoblaski.

Radford was the first to strike as an equipment violation put the Lady Bucs a person down late in the first half. As the ball bounced around the mouth of the goal, Lisa Channon found it at the top of the penalty area and pushed it past Cederholm and into the right corner, giving RU the 1-0 lead in the 34th minute.

The Highlanders would strike twice quickly in the second half, putting a goal in just 1:39 into the second period, and again eight minutes later. All three Highlander goals were scored from outside the 18-yard box.

CSU will host the College of Charleston in the Silver Cup match on Wednesday at 3 p.m. That match will be broadcast live through Teamline on www.csusports.com.
