Postgame Quotes - Men's Basketball vs. Radford

Box Score

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh provides his thoughts following CSU's 73-58 win over Radford Sunday, Jan. 2 at the Buc Dome

Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh
On the general flow of the game:
It was a very choppy game. I thought that Radford played really hard, and we played really hard. These were two teams desperate for a win, and really wanted to win the game, and I think that led to some very aggressive plays which led to a lot of whistles. It caused a choppy game.

On the team's defensive play:
I thought it was a very good defensive effort, with the exception of fouling. I thought some of those were silly fouls. Those are not good fundamental fouls, fouls that you just want to walk away. Sometimes you're not going to get the offensive rebound; you just have to walk away for another day.

On Jeremy Sexton's second-half performance:
I thought Jeremy hit big shots for us. We need Jeremy. He's an important part of what we're doing. Jeremy hadn't played his best this year, but he's certainly capable of turning it on at any point in time. We know that, because he's ready to explode. We have tremendous faith and confidence in him, and, quite frankly today he delivered three or four very big shots where they could have whittled the lead down to single digits or even below. He hit big shots, very timely shots.

On the road ahead:
We have to win at home and go steal a couple on the road. We've put ourselves in a position to be in the upper part of our league, and it's been a very hard week. It's been a hard week, coming back from Christmas, going down to Georgia and playing two very emotional home games. It's been a hard week. We have a tired, tired team. We're going to take tomorrow and just walk through some things, and lift, and that's it, and watch film. We'll get after it Tuesday and Wednesday, and then it gets even harder because we have to go on the road in the Big South. It's tough.
