CSU Ends Season With Road Loss To High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C.: The Lady Bucs wrapped up the 2011 season with a four-set loss (25-16, 25-21, 18-25,25-17) to the High Point Panthers in High Point, N.C. on Nov. 12.


CSU was led by two Bucs in double digits; Kayla Klinger and Sydney Tracy both knocked in 12 kills. Amy Nokes recorded her second double-double of the weekend with 26 assists and 15 digs. Ashley Higginbothem led the way for the Bucs digging up 14 while Sydney Tracy added 11. The Lady Bucs totaled 44 kills on 131 total attacks (.183), 36 assists, 60 digs and four team blocks.

The Panthers were led by Kristin Heldt's 15 kills, and Lauren Bell's 40 assists while Stephanie Kaminskas and Breanna Holliday both dug up 12. HPU totaled 52 kills on 143 total attacks (.259), 44 assists, 60 digs and seven blocks.

HPU hopped out to a 2-0 set lead before Charleston Southern bounced back and took set three. Kayla Klinger and Sydney Tracy both had four kills in the set, with Klinger hitting for .375. Tracy dug up a team high seven while Ashley Higginbothem chipped in with six. CSU bested HPU in third set kills 12-10, assists 11-8, and digs 20-15. CSU hit for an impressive .242 as a team while HPU hit for .195.


CSU ended the regular season with a 5-25 record overall while going 1-13 in Big South Conference play.
