CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jamarco Warren put up 30 points in what may be his final game at the Buc Dome, but it wasn't enough as the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers dropped the CSU men's basketball team 81-77 on Saturday afternoon at the Buc Dome.

The loss means the Bucs will travel for the Big South Quarterfinals, though the destination will be determined by the outcome of tonight's Winthrop/VMI game. The first round games will take place on Tuesday night at the home of the top four seeds.

The Bucs shot 42.4 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line. Warren led all players in scoring, going 10-of-16 from the field and 5-of-9 from downtown. He was a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line and grabbed five boards and two of the Bucs' seven steals.

Kelvin Martin also scored in double figures, putting up 16 points and grabbing five rebounds. Jeremy Sexton hit seven free-throws on his way to scoring 11 points, and dished out four assists. Johathan Brooks led the rebounding effort with ten boards, but missed the double double by one with nine points. The Chanticleers out-rebounded the Bucs 38-33.

Anthony Raffa came off the bench to lead the Chants in scoring with 24 points and dished out five assists. Chad Gray had 21 points and seven boards but it was Sam McLaurin who led with 11 rebounds. Dexter Moore sunk four treys on his way to scoring 13 points. The Chanticleers shot 49.1 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from downtown. The CCU reserves were crucial to the game, outscoring the Bucs' bench 27-3.

The Chanticleers scored immediately after tipoff, but the Bucs struck back on their first possession to tie the game at two apiece. Coastal Carolina took a three point lead on a trey from Dexter Moore, but the Bucs quickly caught up and took a one point advantage on a layup by Martin. CCU took back the lead at the free-throw line and put up 13 straight points to lead the Bucs 23-8 with just over half of the first half in the books.

Warren hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cut the deficit to single digits, but the Chanticleers were able to counter and brought their advantage back up to 13 with a shot from downtown by Anthony Raffa. A layup from Johathan Brooks brought the Bucs within 11, but two consecutive buckets from Gray were followed by two at the line by Brandon Crawford to give the Chanticleers the 36-19 advantage with 4:37 left to go.

Another trey from Warren cut the CSU deficit to 14. Martin had two from the line and two from the field to bring it down to 12 before Troy Pierce picked up a point at the charity stripe to bring it down further. Moore hit another 3-pointer to put CCU ahead by 14 before a late layup from Warren put the score at 43-31 in favor of the Chants at the half.

The Bucs scored the first two buckets of the second half to cut the CCU lead down to seven, but Moore struck again with a trey to bring it back to 10. Jeremy Sexton had a layup and two free-throws to once again bring CSU within seven. Gray and Martin traded layups, keeping the Bucs within seven. A 9-4 run put the Chants up by 12 with 10:30 to go in the game.

The two teams remained scoreless for the next two minutes before Grady put up a bucket to stretch CCU's lead to 14. A layup by Warren kicked off an 11-4 scoring run by the Bucs that included five straight points from Sexton and brought the Bucs within seven with 4:24 remaining.

Warren hit the free-throw line for two to make it a two possession game at 66-61 with just under four to go, but two points from Gray negated his efforts. Kenny Mitchell then struck back with a bucket of his own to bring the Bucs within five. However, a pair of free-throws from Sam McLaurin put the Chanticleers head 72-65 with just under two minutes to go.

Warren was fouled attempting a shot from downtown and hit all three shots at the line, bringing the Bucs within four. Raffa was sent to the charity stripe soon after, picking up two points for CCU to put them ahead by six. A jumper by Mitchell cut the CCU lead to four with a minute left. The Chants hit the free-throw line, but Brooks put up two points to keep it a two possession game. The Bucs started to foul, allowing CCU to pick up three more points at the free-throw line, but a trey from Warren kept the game within reach. Matt Kennedy added a last second bucket, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit as the Chanticleers took the 81-77 victory.
