Lady Bucs take fifth at Citadel Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Adrienne Cuff finished in the top 10 at the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational on Saturday morning as the Lady Bucs finished fifth overall among the eight teams competing at Laurel Hill Plantation.
Cuff continued her strong senior season, completing the five-kilometer course in 18:36.02 to finish ninth overall among all competitors on the course to lead the Lady Bucs.
Winthrop University won the team title on the morning, finishing with 56 points overall and the Lady Eagles were led by medalist Jeanne Stroud who crossed the line in 17:27.57 to lead all runners. Mercer and Campbell rounded out the top three teams on the day, with College of Charleston finishing fourth and Charleston Southern taking fifth overall.
Freshman Jessie Dotson and senior Susanna McKee finished in the top 20 individually for CSU, with Dotson taking 17th overall after crossing the line with 19:06.71, while McKee finished with a time of 19:14.94 on the morning in finishing 20th overall.
Heidi Dean finished three spots back with a time of 19:32.53, while Hannah Burkholder rounded out the top five for Coach Ryan Thompson on the course with a time of 19:57.40 to finish 30th overall.
Eloisa Paredes and Mary Davidson competed individually for CSU in the race, with Paredes finishing 31st overall with a time of 20:02.41, while Davidson finished 39th overall with a time of 20:36.68.
Charleston Southern remains on the road as the Lady Bucs travel to Rock Hill, S.C. on Saturday, October 27th to take on the rest of the conference field in the 2012 Big South Conference Championships.
