Bucs finish 11th at Big South Championships

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Sophomore Tyre Hines continued his strong sophomore season with Charleston Southern, finishing tops among the Buccaneers runners on the course at the 2012 Big South Cross Country Championships as CSU finished 11th overall among the teams to take on the field on Saturday morning.
Liberty claimed their eighth consecutive men's team title, placing three runners among the top five to finish with a team score of 28 to claim top honors, while High Point was led by individual champion Jacob Smith as the Panthers finished second overall on the day. Campbell, VMI and UNC Asheville rounded out the top five teams at the meet.
Sophomore Michael Marshburn finished 78th overall, finishing the eight-kilometer course in 29:19.44, while senior Martin Hutchens finished one spot behind with a time of 29:33.82 for the Buccaneers.
Junior Baxley Crosby finished up the championships in 87th overall with a time of 32:02.92 over the course, while freshman Joshua Mack competed in his first Big South Championship, finishing 89th overall on the course with a time of 33:28.15.
Charleston Southern continues the cross country season at the 2012 NCAA Southeast Regional meet on Friday, November 9th, in Charlotte, N.C.
