Box score

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern tennis team picked up its third straight victory with a 5-1 triumph over Troy at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.

Yvonne Hubler set the tone for the Bucs at the number three singles spot, improving to 6-1 individually for the season with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the first match of the day. Marija Dzakovic also moved her season mark to 6-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 win, while Olga Makhova, Alexandra Walters and Alia Nour all contributed victories as well. Walters' win upped her mark to a perfect 7-0 in singles play. Makhova overcame a loss in the opening set to edge Karoline Grymel at the top singles spot, while Nour persevered past a defeat in her second set to prevail, 6-2, in the third and final set.

Angelica Sidorenko took the first set against the Trojans' Lyubov Dorofeeva, but dropped a hard-fought match 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. The teams did not play doubles due to thunderstorms which delayed competition for over an hour.

CSU looks to make it four in a row Wednesday at 2 p.m. when it hosts Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights enter off a loss to College of Charleston Sunday, and stand at 5-5 overall, including a 0-2 mark in the Big East.
