LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Charleston Southern Lady Bucs shot an
opening round 310 and followed with a 320 in the afternoon to
finish the 36-hole opening day at 32-over par as a team after two
rounds of the 2012 Cardinal Cup, played Monday at the Cardinal Club
Golf Course.
CSU is eight strokes behind Bradley and nine back of James
Madison and Akron at the event. Host Louisville leads at 15-over
par through 36 holes. Louisville's Emily Haas is the individual
leader in the field, and is running away with the tournament. She
is a 6-under and has a five-stroke lead of Missouri's Taylor
Gohn.
Senior Amanda D'Ostroph opened with a 75 (+3) in the morning
round and closed the day with a 79 (+7). She is tied for 42nd at
the event.
Junior Torey Johnson had back-to-back birdies on the sixth and
seventh holes in her opening round en route to a 75 (+3) in the
morning, before shooting an 80 in her afternoon round. She is tied
for 49th.
Senior Katelyn Bensch opened strong with three birdies during a
76 in her morning round, but faded to 66th following an 84 in the
afternoon.
Junior Vanessa Jay is 76th after the opening 36 holes. She
struggled with an 86 to start the day, but rallied with a solid 77
(+7) in the afternoon, make three birdies in her afternoon
round.
Sophomore Viktoria Enhanger is 85th as an individual after an 84
and an 89 in her two rounds on Monday.
The final round begins Tuesday morning at the Cardinal
Course.
