Box Score

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern women's soccer is back in action at home this weekend as the Buccaneers welcome VMI to Blackbaud Stadium for a Big South Conference contest on Friday afternoon.

Kickoff between the Bucs and the Keydets is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Blackbaud as the Bucs look to rebound from a tough loss this past Wednesday against Campbell as CSU's comeback attempt against the Camels fell short in Charleston Southern's 3-2 loss.

Charleston Southern enters the contest with a 4-8-1 overall record on the season, 1-4 in Big South Conference play on the year, while VMI enters with a 3-9 overall record, also 1-4 in conference action on the year.

The Buccaneers offense has been led on the season by senior forward Toni Lashley, who continues to pace CSU with six goals and three assists on the season. A constant threat on the ball, Lashley has two multi-goal efforts this season with both resulting in Charleston Southern wins, including two goals in CSU's 3-0 win last weekend at UNC Asheville.

Fellow senior Allison Lewis has continued her recent string of success and has scored three goals over the past three games to run her season total to four goals on the season. The Bucs' furious comeback fell short as CSU was unable to overcome a three goal second half deficit in Big South Conference play on Wednesday evening as CSU fell at host Campbell, 3-2.

Chloe Urig scored her first goal of the 2013 season on a penalty kick in the contest, while Lewis connected on her fourth goal of the year to lead the Bucs offense on the day, but Campbell took advantage of a span of three goals over 10 minutes as the Camels recorded their first Big South win of the season.
