CSU tied for fourth after two rounds at the Wendy's Invitational

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston Southern is tied for fourth and freshman Shelby Thompson is tied for fifth after 36 holes on Monday at the 2013 Wendy's Invitational, play on the Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Rivertowne Country Club. 

Thompson fired an even-par 72 in her opening round and closed the day with a 75. She is eight strokes off the lead. Her Buccaneers are tied for fourth with Big South rival Radford, two strokes ahead of Tennessee Tech. 

College of Charleston is 1-over par as a team and leads the event by 11 strokes over Coastal Carolina. Wofford is third (609), one stroke ahead of CSU and Radford (610). 

The Cougars' Laura Fuenfstueck has a three-stroke lead at 5-under over Lena Schaeffner (-2) from Coastal Carolina. CCU's Emee Hebert is third at even par. 

Fellow CSU freshman Bella Johnson is tied for 19th after a 76 and a 77 in her two Monday rounds. She leads teammate Hannah Fairweather by two. Fairweather fired a 77 and a 78 and is tied for 78th

Senior Torey Johnson bounced back from a rough 83 to open the day to shoot 74 in the afternoon and climb into the Top 40 at 37th. Senior Vanessa Jay is tied for 50th

Tuesday's final round begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
