Bucs' Thomson tied for third after two rounds at the Wofford Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Charleston Southern junior Ross Thomson fired a pair of 69's and is tied for third after two rounds of the 2013 Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational, played Monday at the Country Club of Spartanburg.

Thomson is two strokes off the lead, held by Wofford's Charles Moore who fired a 69 and 67 in his two rounds on Monday. The two 69's match his second lowest round of the year.

The Buccaneers are 14th in the tournament standings. The Bucs were sixth and within five shots of the lead after an even-par 288 in their opening 18 holes on Monday, but slipped with a 305 in their second 18 holes.

Wofford leads the tournament by eight strokes after a 557 (-19) on Monday. The Terriers shot 14-under in their second round. East Tennessee State (565) is second and Appalachain State (568) is third.

Sophomore Choo Teck Ng is tied for 59th after opening his day with a 73 and closing with a 77.

Sophomores C.J. Liner and Jarrett Swan both shot 73 in their opening round and fired a 79 on the afternoon for a total of 152 (+8). They are tied for 66th.

Sophomore Jason Sauder is tied for 75 after a 73 and an 82.

The final round begins on Tuesday morning.
