GREENSBORO, N.C. - Charleston Southern sits tied for 13th after the first 36 holes of the UNC Greensboro Starmount Fall Classic, hosted by UNCG at the Starmount Country Club.

The Buccaneers are tied at 50-over par, with a two-round total of 618, to sit 13th overall tied with fellow Big South member Gardner-Webb, while sitting three strokes back of tournament host UNC Greensboro.

With the teams playing the first 36 holes on the first day of the tournament, Hannah Fairweather leads the Buccaneers after turning in a two-round score of 9-over par to sit tied for 28th overall on the tournament. Fairweather, who started both rounds on the 16th hole, recorded a birdie on hole 16 in her first round, and 18 and seven in the second round to lead the Bucs.

Shelby Thompson finished the day with matching 77s on the par 71 course, recording a pair of birdies in each round to sit tied for  44th following the first day. The freshman from Unrichsville, Ohio, started the course on hole 15 in both rounds, with birdies on hole 15 and one in the first round, and holes 18 and eight in the second round in her third tournament with the Bucs.

Torey Johnson rebounded from a tough first round where she shot 80, 9-over par, with three birdies in the second round in closing out with a second round 76 in moving up into a tie for 56th overall in the tournament. Vanessa Jay finished one stroke back of Johnson after the first two rounds, while Bella Johnson finished three strokes behind her teammates on the afternoon.

Charleston Southern tees off in the final round of the Starmount Fall Classic tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
