"I'm really proud of the girls for the fall season they've had," CSU head coach Matt Cram-Smith said following Tuesday's round. "We are so close to putting together a really good tournament and I'm sure we'll achieve that in the spring. The girls can see how close this tournament was to being another high finish for us. They played hard and can hold their heads high for the effort they put in. It should be a really good spring season for us."
Thompson eagled the par-five 10th hole – her 17th hole – and followed with a birdie on her final hole of the day to finish 12th overall. She moved up 20 spots on the day after posting CSU's lowest round of the event.
Freshman Hayley McNeill added another quality finish taking 16th in a field full of nationally-ranked golfers. She was 16th overall with a 73 (+1) on Tuesday. MCNeill got off to a roaring start with an eagle on the 15th hole and two early birdies to move to 3-under to open her round.
Freshman Milleina Ohara was 60th with an 81 (+9) in her final round. Sophomore Hannah Barger had a birdie in her round of 80 (+9) to finish 82nd.
