CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charleston Southern freshman Katerina Šmolíková has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
Šmolíková led the way for the Buccaneers at the Edisto Island Invitational, finishing ninth overall with a three-round score of 217 (4-over par). The freshman opened the tournament with her best round of the event, firing a 2-under 69 before carding a 75 in the second round and closing with a 73.
This is the first Big South award of Šmolíková's career.
