CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern's Saah Nimley has been named a 2014-15 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American, it was announced Monday. Nimley is one of 48 players in the entire country to receive Honorable Mention All-America honors from the same AP panel that votes in the Top-25 poll throughout the season.
Nimley was named Big South Player of the Year after leading CSU to the winningest regular season in program history and a berth in the National Invitation Tournament. The 5-8 senior guard from Lawrenceville, Ga. currently ranks 5th nationally in both scoring average and made three-pointers per game.
No other Big South players received the honor from the AP. Nimley ranked among the Big South's top-ten in seven different statistical categories. He led the league in scoring and threes per game, and averaged 25.6 PPG during conference play.
Nimley tallied 30 or more points seven times, and is the only player in the country this year to post back-to-back-to-back-to-back 30-point efforts. He wrapped up his career as CSU's all-time assists leader. Nimley is the first player in Big South history with over 1,800 points and 500 assists in a career.
