JACKSONVILLE, FLA. –
Kat Klingensmith broke a scoreless tie midway through the first half, and
Kylie Doster and
Elise Borys tacked on their first career goals to lead Charleston Southern to a 3-1 victory over Jacksonville in the season opener on Thursday.
How It Happened
•   Klingensmith scored her third career goal in the 27th minute to stake CSU to a 1-0 lead.Â
•   Doster made it 2-0 with two minutes remaining before halftime when she scored her second career goal on a penalty kick.
•   The Dolphins cut their deficit in half in the 63rd minute when Olivia Abdallah scored off an assist by Madison Taylor.
•   The Bucs produced an insurance tally in the 79th minute when
Erin Rush fed freshman Borys, who scored her first career goal.Â
Inside the Numbers
•   CSU held a 15-4 advantage in shots including 7-3 on goal.Â
•   Rush led the way for the Bucs with four shots, and Klingensmith and freshman
Bri Robinson both had three.

Jazmin Gonzalez was forced to make only two saves.
News and Notes
•   Robinson was joined by
Lauren McDonald and
Kayla Reese as freshmen in the starting lineup. Borys and
Chloe Bailey also made their collegiate debuts.
•   Two of Klingensmith's three career goals have come against Jacksonville. She also scored the game-winner in overtime in a 2-1 victory last season.
•   Gonzalez moved into sole possession of 11th place in school history with 93 career saves.
•   The Bucs won for the first time in three trips to Jacksonville and upped their lead in the series to 5-2.

The Bucs play their 2019 home opener on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Wofford. CSU has won five of seven all-time meetings with the Terriers including a 1-0 victory last year in Spartanburg.
