CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball collected their first home win of the young season in dramatic fashion outlasting a scrappy Idaho State team 3-2 (25-14, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 17-15) from the Buc Dome Wednesday night.
Charleston Southern (2-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead taking the first set with ease as
Peyton Thompson had eight of her match-leading 20 kills. CSU hit .360 in the first set while holding the Bengals (2-5) to just .059 from the floor.
Idaho State would force a fourth set taking the second and third, holding off late Buccaneer rallies in each.
Down 2-1, the Bucs rallied for a 25-19 fourth-set win then put the final stamp on the match with
Ashleigh Holweger's sixth and final ace.
