- The Buccaneers are now 2-5 in their last seven Big South openers, each of the seven coming at Buccaneer Fieldhouse.
- The season series went in favor of the Bulldogs a season ago, with UNC Ashville winning both of the back-to-back contests in the special conference format. Each one of the tilts were played in Asheville, N.C.
- Charleston Southern hits the road for the first time in the conference setting this season as they travel across state lines to Asheville, North Carolina to take on UNC Asheville. The last time the Bucs topped UNC Asheville away from Buccaneer Fieldhouse came in the 2018-19 campaign.
- UNC Asheville is coming off a huge win on the road at Campbell to start its 2022 Big South campaign. The Bulldogs had four different scorers in double-figures, three of which shared the high of 14.
- UNC Asheville comes into the contest with three Bulldogs averaging double-figures. Each of the three averaging double figures have started all 14 games for UNC Asheville.
- Drew Pember has had a strong showing in the early going, as the Tennessee transfer ranks in the top-5 in the country in blocked shots and blocks per game.
- Four different Bulldogs have started every game this season, but only eight have made a start thus far.
